Potentially one heartbeat from being the leader of the free world. Seriously.
This woman hasn’t a clue. I’m sorry. McCain’s VP decision was a gimmick to bolster his flagging campaign. Country first my foot.

Lots of excitement/terror on the internets today… something about the great depression.
Whatev.
I collected some laughs.

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again. The Olympics are only
held every 4 years, because any more often and it it would just be too
much awesome to handle. I’ve forgotten how much I love all of it.
The global unity, the national pride, the purity of sport, it’s all
there. I swear when I hear the NBC Olympic theme I get goosebumps.
The opening ceremony was immense! 2008 people doing Tai Chi, dancers
running around a giant globe, the parade of nations, fireworks in the
place where they were invented, and the incredible torchlighting. How
awesome was that?
I watched swimming prelims last night - races that really meant
nothing, but it was so easy to get behind whatever American swimmer
was in the water. U-S-A! NBColympics.com has pretty much every
second of every event on video; I’ve been watching rowing prelims, air
pistol, fencing, and now a little handball streaming live. The whole
not having cable TV really isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
The US men’s soccer team has already played two games - beating Japan
1-0 and an agonizing tie to Holland 2-2. With a good performance
against Nigeria and some luck, we’ll be through to the quarter finals.
I expect all of you to be watching on Wednesday morning - catch it
live online at 2 am Pacific!
Now excuse me, I need to go watch Michael Phelps dominate the pool.
A few weeks ago, after talking about bikes at work, a coworker said
he’d give me his old cycle. It had been involved in a tragic crash
rendering it just out of service, and rather than repairing it back to
a ridable state, my friend splurged on a nice new bike. So, one day
after work, we made the handoff and the vintage late 80s Schwinn model
564 was officially mine. As I mentioned, it needed some repair work.
The rear derailleur, normally attached to the frame at a threaded hole
in a tab of the frame (’hanger’), had stripped out and was easily
removable. To make matters worse, the hanger was bent out of vertical
at a fairly significant angle. After some research, I found that this
wasn’t as uncommon as I thought it might have been; there are many
different repair options waiting for me to buy online. The most
common method was a simple threaded insert, easily installed by boring
out the existing hole in the frame. Like a helicoil, the insert
provides a new set of threads, and a shoulder on one end keeps it in
place after tightening down the derailleur. The bent hanger worried
me, though. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to handle that part of the
repair with my limited tools.
I finally remembered to load the bike in the car one morning and after
work that day, I went to the local cycle shop, where the owner (much
to my surprise) dropped what he was doing, carefully bent the hanger
back with a specialized tool, and sold me an insert to repair the
hole. He wasn’t sure about the bending job; since it was fairly out
of line, he worried that he might break the thin aluminum. I think my
words of encouragement went something like, “well, right now I have a
broken bike. If this doesn’t work, I’ll still have a broken bike.” My
lack of a potential loss being established, the metal cooperated and
the hanger bent right back into place. Let’s not think about what
might happen to other parts of a ductile aluminum frame should I run
into any mailboxes or the like.
Armed with the insert, I borrowed a drill from my bike benefactor and
set out to finish the repair job. I worked in my ‘backyard,’ the
green space outside my back porch that has a spectacular view of the
street and the new apartment unit being built. Using a newspaper to
catch the aluminum chips, I bored the new hole, eyeballing the drill
straight. I suspect the insert wasn’t made with the tightest
tolerances, as the finish was not smooth and it took quite a bit of
‘detail’ work with the drill to enlarge the hole. I’d force the
insert in a bit, note where the most interference was, and use the
drill to remove some material near there. After what seemed like an
hour doing this, I finally was able to shove the insert all the way
through. I tightened the derailleur on, unravelled the chain from an
odd series of bends, and placed it on the sprockets. Ecstatic at this
point, I started cautiously riding it in the parking lot, slowly
increasing speed as I ensured I wouldn’t get tossed, reassuring myself
about the quality of the repair. I think I rode about four miles that
day, in Carhartt pants covered in bike grease.
I decided I would hold off on riding until I got a helmet. I found
one for cheap on Amazon and ordered it the next day. I should have
done more research; I ordered from West Virginia and the shipping took
forever. Finally this Monday it came in. I rode another four miles
that afternoon, midway through making the discovery of how to make the
speedometer work - the pickup on the frame, moved an eighth inch
closer to the magnet on the spokes, made the difference from no
readout to ‘I can see how fast I’m going!’ When I first got the bike,
my friend had mentioned ‘Oh, and I don’t know what’s wrong with the
speedometer, either. It used to work’
So now, the possiblities are endless. I feel like I’m about 7 years
old to be this excited about a bike. On Tuesday I rode to the park
with all my soccer gear in a bag on my back. Albertson’s, Wal-Mart,
and Safeway are all within biking distance. Eventually, I’ll get a
small repair kit to be confident in making longer rides, like to work
and back. This is really exciting. Let’s go ride bikes.
Do people really fall for this? I mean honestly.

A small prediction
Despite the importance of Earth Day and =
the Pennsylvania primary, by far the most important event in the world =
happening today is the first leg of the Champions League =
semi-final. Chelsea face Liverpool at Anfield starting in about 15 =
minutes. These two teams have met several times in the past few =
years at this stage of the competition and have developed quite the =
rivalry. It has to be devastating to be so close to European =
glory, only to be eliminated in the semi-finals. So without =
further ado,
Liverpool 2 -1 Chelsea
Gerrard will be immense.
An away goal will leave Chelsea with a =
hope to salvage the tie, but Liverpool will have the momentum into the =
second leg.
The great thing is that while this game =
is huge, tomorrow’s will be exponentially more exciting. (!)
I’m trapped inside. Winter doesn’t want to leave without one last cold spell. I think the temperature is supposed to hit the balmy mid 40s today, but still, there is snow in the forecast. Silly Pacific weather.
The good news is that sitting at a computer on a Saturday morning makes for great soccer watching. The match of the minute is Blackburn - Manchester United. I almost feel sorry for some of the Red Devils’ opponents when they are denied points just at the death of a game. Friedel and company made a great effort at stifling the ridiculous attacking talent for 80 minutes, but Tevez and company finally found a way through. Great game to watch, though, especially the last 20 minutes or so. Now it’s time for my boys in blue and crimson, the Blaugrana, FC Barcelona. Incidentally, today’s match is the first meeting of FCB and their crosstown rivals Espanyol in the Nou Camp since I was there in June. You’ve got to love derby matches. Too bad this American commentator is piss poor.
My GPS unit has been laying on the floor, unloved, for several weeks now. I need to wrap up some unfinished business from Spring Break. Without further ado, here are several GPS+Google Maps love children, from the 2007 and 2008 Spring Breaks. In 2007 I was able to track the entire road trip, hogging an inverter power socket. The 2008 version only has a few marked points. Fun to explore, no doubt.
2007 to Goblin Valley and Canyonlands
2008 in Organ Pipe and Cabeza Prieta
Those iframes are not cooperating at all. Pardon my html crappiness as I try to fix them. I win.
I would probably entertain some COD4 on the XBox this afternoon, but my love affair for that game has suffered an irreparable breakup. Last week my stats were reset and the custom classes went crazy. I played a few more games trying to resurrect my lost stats, but it was to no avail. Even now, I can’t choose basic weapons and perks (M16, Stopping Power, etc) for my custom classes. Customer support has told me ‘there’s usually not much we can do”. You mean you can’t just find my gamertag in the database and delete it? That just seems fishy to me. So, I’m done with it. More time for FIFA.
Indoor game tonight at 6. What time is it? Time to go play yet? Hurry up!
This is bloody brilliant. Thanks to the magic of the interwebnets, I
can post via e-mail! One would think this would inspire more activity
here…
Have fun with this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=mHXBL6bzAR4
Dinner time.
Hello world. It’s been a while. Life is good here. I always say that I’d like to keep this thing updated, and then don’t really follow up on it - so here’s the newest iteration of that.
Summer is finally peeking its way out from the clouds, and we’ve had a few nice days in the past weeks, with more forecast ahead (yes!). When the gorgeous days are more infrequent, you tend to take advantage of the gorgeous-ness more often. Besides, I need to reinforce my tan/burn from the desert. On a horse with no name.
I’m in the middle of watching Garden State. I don’t know why I haven’t watched it before. I think Zach Braff is hilarious in Scrubs and Natalie Portman is amazing, which makes this movie very watchable for me. I need to go finish it.
Here’s a random question - what’s the deal with media players and their visualizations? I can understand the need for programmers to cater to users that may be in the middle of an acid trip, but I can’t imagine that this is a large majority of the total users. I use Windows Media Player at work, and it’s astounding how that giant window is about 80% full of stupid psychedelic craziness whenever you just play a song. /rant
Why the fuck is there so much importance placed on public polls of how the war is going in Iraq? It’s not like Americans can get any kind of real insight into the situation. It seems that those polls are just tools to see how well the media outlets are pitching their crap. Seriously.
I want to be on a soccer team that has $500 billion. How sick would that be?
Instead of invading Iraq, we should have given the half-trillion dollars we’ve spent (wasted) on the war to their soccer team. Iraq’s underdog mens national team just beat Saudi Arabia to win the Asian Cup, a tournament held every 4 years. The country went nuts, despite being surrounded by the horrors of war. I love this game.
Facebook just got way the hell cooler - check out the applications you can add now. How is it still free?
I finished research for Jenkins yesterday = Lee is really done with college.
In 16 days, I’ll be watching Ronaldinho and company defending their Primera Liga title with 80,000+ people in Barcelona. Awesome!
1. Rooney is the man. Man U 3 - Milan 2. Now to take it to the Italians at the San Siro.
2. Sigh. What the fuck is going on in Washington?
3. One final week of hell to go!
Watch Man U beat Kaka and AC Milan today (Tuesday) at 12:30 Mountain time on ESPN 2.
Live MLS games every Thursday! Woooooo
Saw Dr. Gamble in a library bathroom of all places today. We had a funny conversation.

Did some homework. Read Consuming Religion. By read, I mean skimmed. By skimmed, I mean suffered. That book should be restricted for purchase only by theologians or something. Now I need to write a paper. Meh.
Why do I continue to put off my skiing agenda? I’m going this weekend. This electronic text shall be my witness.
My soccer prodigy self-representation in FIFA 07 is amazing.
Night.
Woke up. late.
Played some snow football. Pretty rough today, snow was fast. Went to Taco Bell.
Watched Crank. In a stroke of brilliance, put the Crank ringtone on my phone. I win.
I should refer to my Fluids class as arsenic or something, because it’s killing me.
ha! I crack myself up.
Wake me up in 90 minutes.
Note - Pretty sure I just figured out why my RSS feed wasn’t updating itself = wooo.
Random thoughts whilst I avoid working on this 461 Lab Report at 1 am…
I keep meaning to post an update every day.
Why am I hopelessly addicted to soccer? Is it because its cool or adventurous to be a fan of something generally unknown amongst most people? Or is it just that cool. Probably the latter. Whatever. It’s truly hopeless.
So with all the talk of a reform in Iraq with the new Congress, we’re wasting time by debating a disapproval of Bush’s fun little surge? I can imagine all of our lawmakers sitting around debating how hard they want to slap Bush’s hands. Is this even constructive?
Any guesses as to how long it’ll be till bombs are dropping on Iran? My faith in this administration has reached an all-time low; White House babble these days reminds me a lot of back when they were making claims against Saddam. To me, Iran is quickly becoming the scapegoat and distraction for Iraq.
Pandora rocks my world.
If you own a company in the Northwest with openings for entry-level Mechanical Engineers and are willing to pay me a fine sum of money to work for you, please go ahead and call me and make an offer. Just skip over all those silly interviews.
Don’t bitch.
This weekend turned from a boring book-reading experience to something quite different with just one phone call.

Pending some dogs, we’re set for free burritos for a month. Hell yes. And I read 30 pages of the 300 page book all weekend. Who cares? I don’t.
Manning finally gets his due. Iraq is hopeless. British rock rocks. Listen to Boy Kill Boy.
Hey all,
This will be my last post on livejournal. I’ve had a blog up for a while, and just finished migrating all of my lj posts over there. I’ll be deleting my account here.
Farewell!
“Scientists and economists have been offered $10,000 each by a lobby group funded by one of the world’s largest oil companies to undermine a major climate change report due to be published today.”
I couldn’t make it to the LAN party tonight. I probably should have been reading all day, but we went out and got half of the La Parilla challenge for February done. With some nude skiing, sled dogs, snowshoeing, and a couple other items, we should be set for free burritos!
Now since we’re all heading back to school for yet another semester, here’s some educational blogation.
I got a GPS unit for Christmas, and it’s awesome. What’s more awesome is Google Maps.
Today, Dave, Ben, Doug, Lindsey, and I went on a hike in Bear Canyon that, even though we didn’t make it to our destination of Mystic Lake, was a blast. I took the GPS along to get position fixes as we hiked along. As an added bonus, I randomly discovered a geocache that I had loaded on the receiver earlier, but the snow was too deep to find it. Next time… After drying off here at home, I grabbed the tracked route from the receiver and saved it to my computer. Using a site called GPS Visualizer, I was able to take this route file and slap it onto Google maps. From here, I used my keen computer skills (Google searching) to save the map as an html file with my Google Maps API Key and then was able to embed it onto the blog like so:
Bad ass. Hooray for school.
If you didn’t watch the Fiesta Bowl last night, you missed out. I spaced out and forgot it was on, so I didn’t start watching until about midway through the 3rd. Right in time for the best end of a football game… ever.
Spare me from explaining the ridiculousness: Sportscenter recap (again)
Thanks Mark for reporting deadness. I figured the original would get wiped from youtube. This one probably will too, soon. Watch while you still can!
Took some tests. Flew home. Sat around. Went to the Grandparents’. Came back.
I was tantalizingly close to a 4.0 this semester… even though I really wasn’t expecting it. Hooray for engineering. Grades and tests are dumb, but they are the best (read: easiest) way for colleges to quanitze your intelligence. It’s just silly how a large percentage of my college knowledge will just go flying out the window when I start real work.
Bobkittens on ESPN2 at 2:00 pm Mountain Time today (Saturday).
Excitement!
1. Due to the stunning performance and dominating play of the Kitties yesterday, we have a HOME PLAYOFF GAME this coming Saturday! I don’t really know how that at large bid came to us, nor do I understand any part of how the hell we’re playing at home, but I’m not questioning it. We’re playing the Furman Paladins from South Carolina. Aside from having a cool nickname, they suck. But so does everyone else who isn’t MSU.
Get your student ticket Monday at 8:00 am at the Ticket Office in the fieldhouse, or at the AskUs desk at 10:00 am. $7 apiece. Do it!
2. I hate French.
Casino Royale stands up to the hype. It rocks. The girls are hot, the car is hotter, and bad guy cries blood. Oh yes.
Google maps has a ‘call’ option for businesses that you look up. You put in your phone number and hit ‘call,’ and the business calls your phone! And there’s no charge - just airtime! Ridiculous!
How to properly forward a ‘chain’ email
1. Open email
2. Press delete
3. Done!
If you must forward it on, make sure that the attachment/link/interesting thing is plainly visible, as a link in the body of YOUR email, or an attachment on YOUR email. Note - the link that is in the attached email that is attached to the email you will be sending DOES NOT meet this criteria. Save for this item, delete everyone else’s babble about this particular thing being the funniest thing in the entire universe or their testimonials about receiving a check for $128,576 signed by Bill Gates. This might take some scrolling. Delete all of the “FW:” abbreviations in the message’s subject. It should appear that you created the original email yourself. Delete carrots or indentations to the left of the message body. After these steps, you should have the following: an email with an easily discernible subject line, possibly an attachment that can be downloaded and directly viewed/experienced, a body message detailing the thing of interest, possibly a link that will directly bring you to the interesting thing, and finally a closing, with your sendoff.
Use Firefox. Don’t bitch.
I should make this into a chain e-mail and see how it does. How cool would that be? It wouldn’t work…
I went to Edwards Air Force Base in Cali last week, for an interview with the Air Force Flight Test Center. I would be working in the weapons branch as a civilian engineer, developing and running tests to make sure weapons work. Edwards was badass - they have 8 jillion square miles of air space, and you can find just about every active aircraft in the Air Force there. After I looked into the weapons bays of a B-1 and a B-52, we sauntered over to a huge array of inert bombs they had out, at which time we heard two F-16s break the sound barrier overhead.
They said that was a normal day.
All told, it was a sweet trip. Aside from missing my flight out of Bozeman and dealing with LA traffic at 9:30 at night, I had a great time.
430, 404, and 454 all promise to kick Lee’s ass in the near future. Hopefully a few full work days in the future will pave the way to a not-so-stressful end of the semester. We’ll see.
I’m glad the rubber-stamp congress is a thing of the past. Checks and balances are a good thing. Now the politicos need to make good on the promises of working hard to fix what’s gotten out of hand in the past few years.
Boze Angeles >> Los Angeles
I keep meaning to summarize my thoughts on the political situation in our country and the impact we make on the world. Here’s a start. I didn’t write it, though.
“In a contest between foreign power and native understanding, foreign power — however much material and military strength it can wield — will always lose. Even in an era when a sense of racial superiority and colonial entitlement led Western nations to have few qualms about subjugating others, eventually native power based on native knowledge would reassert itself. Nowadays the reclamation of power asserts itself much more quickly but it always rises out of the same awareness: this is our land, not yours; it is ours because it is the place we know.”
Paul Woodward
I gave blood in the SUB back on 9/11 and I just got the card/paperwork hoopla in the mail. My blood is A positive. A+. I should just bleed all over all my schoolwork and be guaranteed to be on the President’s List. I think my profs would go for that.
It was called “Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day”
It hasn’t been too bad, but damn it could have been a lot better.
Last night: Hibernated computer, went to sleep.
Today: Woke up. Turned on computer. Got dressed, ready to roll out to study some French before HVAC. Computer couldn’t find hal.dll, no Windows. Couldn’t find phone. Ate breakfast. Looked for phone more, cursed at computer. Dozed through HVAC. Drank helluvalot of Mountain Dew, studied for French. Almost ran short on time for French test. Fought Pro/E to display a section line for half hour. Home, tried to make computer work with recovery console magic. Needed more magic. Frantically threw on formal clothes, went to desk to work. Ran to SUB, tying tie whilst running (hell yes). Almost showed up late to Etiquette Dinner. Worked desk til 10. Phone found in Megan’s car. Yay. Tried to fix computer more. Formatted unpartitioned space on SATA drive in attempt to repair Windows. Bill Gates magically deleted ~50 gb of stuff on SATA. WHAT THE FU#K?! New installation of Windows. Attempting to get files back. This sucks. I’m going to sleep. When I wake up, everything will be fixed.
Last night I had an interesting dream: I was dreaming that one of my friends could control time. When my alarm clock went off, I jumped out of bed and turned it off, but then went right back to sleep thinking that my friend could just slow down time so I could sleep some more. Not really. I should have been waking up and getting ready to go to school. Somehow, I woke up 15 minutes before I needed to be at a group meeting with a prof in Roberts Hall. I stared at my clock incredulously, not believing the time it was showing was the ‘real’ time. Weird.
This weekend Ben, Dave, Leif, Doug, Mark, Megan, and I went to Froze to Death Plateau on the Eastern side of the Beartooth Wilderness for a two day camping trip.
Drove out Saturday around 10:30, started hiking at 1 or 2 - got into a nice camp at 10,500 ft at twilight. Cooked, got cold, slept. Woke up late, ate breakfast, set out to hike Froze to Death Peak and Tempest Peak. View from Tempest was ridiculous.
Headed back to camp, saw mountain goats 20 feet from us, filtered water from a melting ice pack. All in a days work. Slept, early breakfast, down the mountain, swam in a great pool below Mystic Lake, beers and melon at the bottom. Return, sadly, to civilization.
I really can’t think of words to describe it, despite thinking for hours for a description that would do it justice. It was unbelievable. Most breathtaking camping trip I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on a couple.
CS with Quad peeps late into the eve. Doctor’s appointment in the morning, he told me to go see a therapist. He recommended a really good doc but, of course, it will be expensive. Then some HVAC with (again) really broad, non-quantitative discussion. Cook seems like a cool prof, though. Some more French studying for a quiz that was really long and proved that I should have also studied passe compose forms of some irregulars. Meh. Then worked a little, did some HVAC, and got 404 group assignments. I got my third choice - the automated wax application onto corn cobs, not too happy about that one. Then I went and talked to Sally and got my name up front for Ken’s single in Quad A (w00t!). Bball by the skate park, dinner with Weather and Amy, then food shopping for the marathon camping trip to Froze to Death. Oh yes. Excitement.
Looks like 430 will be minimal in-class time, mostly just group meetings. We’ll be designing a heated-slab system to maintain temperature in a medium sized paint warehouse. Wooo. Wasted too much time in the lab today, then billiards, then French, vibes, and then a group meeting with Jenkins. Some French homework, dinner and V for Vendetta over at Megan’s, some CS with the Quad Eers, and now sleep.
After 19 CD coasters and lots of f bombs, I finally was successful in ’slipstreaming’ a Windows XP install onto a CD, complete with drivers for my newfangled SATA hard drive. Suck it.

woot.
What Lee did today.

We believe that, while the leaders of both major parties are well intentioned people, they are trapped in a flawed system – and that the two major parties are today simply neither relevant to the issues and challenges of the 21st Century nor effective in addressing them.
As a result, most Americans have not been enthusiastic about the choices for President in recent elections, the key issues they ran on, or the manner in which the campaigns were conducted.
Therefore Unity08 will act to assure that an alternative ticket is presented to the American voters in 2008.
Unity08 divides issues facing the country into two categories: Crucial Issues – on which America’s future safety and welfare depend; and Important Issues – which, while vital to some, will not, in our judgment, determine the fate or future of the United States.
In our opinion, Crucial Issues include: Global terrorism, our national debt, our dependence on foreign oil, the emergence of India and China as strategic competitors and/or allies, nuclear proliferation, global climate change, the corruption of Washington’s lobbying system, the education of our young, the health care of all, and the disappearance of the American Dream for so many of our people.
Here are four reasons we believe the Unity08 movement will succeed:
1) The American people know that the current political system is broken and that the time is short to fix it.
2) A solidly-funded movement of up to 20,000,000 Americans can be built online in order to nominate a Unity Ticket of their choice for 2008.
3) Seeing the numbers, leaders in both parties will see that a Unity Ticket in 2008 represents the jolt the political system needs to get back on track.
4) The tens of millions of Americans who have not been voting out of cynicism toward the current system are likely to rally to new leadership with a new approach.
Saw a clip about this on CNN yesterday. I’m very intrigued. Unity 08.

Soccer game tonight was a good showing for the Forest Green. I played alright, got really tired before half, and made some regrettable moves in the second. But again, found some good through balls and passes to people.

Friday night - watched some Indiana Jones with Megan
Saturday - Brunch with Shawn, Heather, Megan, and Kirsten, who is moving in with Jen. Sausage, eggs, fruit salad, rhubarb muffins. Delicious, especially the eggs cooked by moi. Then we packed up and went out to the Madison along with 2985289 other people. Rented tubes and coordinated cars and finally we floated away at around 3. Megan’s tube from home was the perfect size for about an 8 year old, which was amusing. We tossed the frisbee for about 5 minutes and then just made a big tube island and dozed off. Every once in a while we’d drag against the bottom (”Retract asses!”) or hit a rock or something fun like that. Finally got done around 6:30 or 7 or so and headed back into town. Walked to Casa Sanchez and ate outside, in the backyard of the concubine. We tackled the rest of Indiana Jones that night.
Sunday, Moses, Jeremy, Rob Buff, Lance and I went up near Deer Lodge to someone’s land to shoot gophers. We had 3 .22s, Lance’s M96, and Moses’ .308. I toted around a .22 for a while, during which no gophers decided to poke out, sadly. The day was, in general, a bust, but I took plenty of shots at flowers and anthills and other random junk, just because reloading the magazine was fun. Stopped at Moses’ mom’s place in Helena on the way back, and then got together with the crew for some dinner action at Heather’s. Me and Ben went to Dairy Queen and got some cream of ice, and brought a blizzard back to Megan at Cheever.
No more French. Full time work. yay?
Finis.
Jay called me at 10 this morning and told me he was going floating this afternoon. I have work! Cliff jumping? Well… I have an appointment to get a table for the lab at 1… can we go at 1:30? 1:30 rolls around and they’re at Big Boys Toys, the tube place. I haul ass home, get stuff, and head out. I’m really glad I did, because it was AWESOME. The river was cool, some good swimming spots, some good fall asleep on the tube spots. However, about 1/3 of the way through the float, there’s a 35-ft rock uplift right on the water, with a really convenient deep spot there as well. Freefalling for three seconds until you hurtle into water is amazing. The first time I did it I tried to fly or stabilize myself or something, and got some nice bruises along my arms. Its really hard to force your arms to stay still while you’re falling through the air. I did it two more times, and then we headed on down the river. TIm lost his truck keys, so we bummed a ride back upstream and then headed back into the Bozone. w00t for skipping work.
Saturday night up at Spanish Lakes near Big Sky with Ben, Bovard, Leif, Just Ben, Christina, Travis, and 4 of Travis’ friends. 8 miles up, some pretty steep sections, but it was worth the view on top. Pasta fest for dinner, late breakfast on Sunday morning, and headed back down with Just Ben and the 4 friends later to be back in town for Monday. Pancakes and Heather’s cake delivery later. Along with an attempt at French. Out.
The weekend… was awesome. Went up to Cascade in driving rain, generally bummed about the gloomy prospects of canoeing on Saturday. Had fun at the casa de Will on Friday night and Saturday, enjoying good food and lots of fun family members. At noon we surveyed some flooding damage (lots) over at Will’s sister’s house, and a crazy idea began to hatch.
We have canoes, and there’s lots of water.
So, a few hours later, we’re setting a canoe into a raging torrent of a creek with Ben, Megan, and Heather downstream to document evidence/laugh at us. That lasted all of about 45 seconds. We survived one set of ‘rapids’ (water rushing around a boulder or tree or some shit) and then came into the second one at an angle. It rolled us and we got wet. ME in my infinite wisdom held on to the canoe in a vain attempt to save it, while it dragged my legs through a veritable gauntlet of rocks and whatnot. I look back and faintly see Will yelling, so I ditch the canoe (hopping over it because it was now somehow upstream of me) and throw myself onto the bank. Except the bank was an island. So here I sit, nearly numb, halfheartedly (and not very convincingly) signaling that I was alright to Megan and Heather on the other bank. I crouched there, conserving heat, for a while, until the rest of the crew showed up. I saw Ben coming and told everyone to tell him that I broke my leg. Then I fell over limp in a good broken leg act. I let Ben watch me in horror for what seemed like a long time, then stood up with a smile. That was funny. Will brought a rope - first he throws it over, I grab it and brace myself to help Will come across. I thought he was coming over so we could jump back in the water and go get the canoe. That would have been stupid, and he was coming over to ‘help me.’ That was a silly idea anyway. The deep part of the torrent was on his side of the creek, so the rope came back to me, and I inched my way in the water toward the bank. Once I went in, Will ran at a diagonal to ’swing’ me towards the bank. That may have helped, but I think the driving force of me getting to the side was a colossal desire to get out of the frigid water. I found myself on the bank, cursing the water and our idea of a good time. But it was fun as hell.

Summer in Montana beats summer in Texas in every possible way, except for thunderstorms. The one happening now just doesn’t have the same oomph. However, everyone who reads this should make every effort to come up here in the summertime sometime during your life. Spectacular.

Dave rented a cabin from FWP out past the ski area, so I went out there after class Friday and chilled (literally) with Dave, Katie, Chelsea, and Ben. We slept till 10 and then went out and snowshoed up to the top of the ridge behind the cabin. I had to head back into town to help set up the Mistletoe Hop, Langford Hall’s traditional holiday dance. The decorations and shat were great, and the dance was unbelievably awesome. I was Santa for an hour and just went around dancing with everyone. All the prep that went into that was well worth it, especially my ‘advertising blitzkrieg.’ Homework time. ![]()

fucking kids and their alcohol.
Tonight my hall held an Oscar Party that was quite impressive. Big screen, sound system, hall awards, food, and fancy clothes. During the show, I realized why I hate Hollywood and all that junk so much. It either came when Chris Rock made joking fun at the whole movie award thing with his hilarious intro (77th and last oscar show), or when they played a clip from “The Aviator” where Hughes (Leo) said “You’re a movie star, that’s it” or something like that, or possibly when Dustin Hoffman presented an Oscar completely drunk (announcing nominees - “Million Dollyar Bayeee”). That last one really got to me. After dealing with so much alcohol-induced shit this year, this display of teenage immaturity and complete unprofessionalism made my respect for this community hit an all-time low. And don’t say that he just made a bad decision. He knows how many people watch this show, and he knows that he is a role model for many who stupidly idolize him. Knowing this, he abused his expensive alcohol and made a complete jackass of himself in front of his peers (who probably enjoyed his presentation) and the rest of America.
These people - overpaid and overhyped - are idols of American society? Not me. I read an article in the paper today about how all award shows are dwindling from their once-prominent place on the tops of TV ratings listings. I hope that fall accelerates into oblivion.
My opinions. Leave a comment if you see fit.

The game is, in a word, breathtaking.
f*ck.
Wow.
I have played Half-Life 2 for approximately 5 minutes. This time has consisted mainly of me drooling at the impeccably beautiful graphics. Reviews have hailed this as the best game ever, and I see now that they aren’t kidding.

Today:
Didn’t sleep too much in math. I was on rounds last night and meant to finish up a take home quiz after the midnight set. Didn’t work. I ended up sleeping at my desk until about 3:30, at which point I was very confused about what had happened. So, I went to sleep thinking I’d do it in the morning. Bah. Morning. So I scribbled some stuff before class; should get an okay grade. It was TAKE HOME though! Greade puller-upper, not taker-downer. Whatev.
Slept through statics. I cannot stay awake in that class, or any other, to tell the truth. I’m perfectly awake and functional running on consistent 6 hour nights, but I shut down when I’m not doing anything. Sleeping in statics will kill me. I need to stop.
Chem E 213 - Nodded off, caught about half of this class. Review for the test Wednesday. I should be studying.
Physics - Nodded again. He went over cross products for like 20 minutes. I got so tired of doing cross products last week for statics that I made a calculator program to do them for me. And now, Neumaier decides to go back to the basics. zzzzzzzzzz.
It’s halloween week. That means I’ll have all kinds of RA stuff to do. AND
Physics Test
ChE 213 Test

and a weighty decision. Ack.
Half-Life 2 is gold.

After a month and change waiting for a graphics card, I finally got fed up and talked to Phil (my cheap GPU source). He hasn’t had a very good month, and the mail eats graphics cards, etc etc. Sooooo, after some bargaining that almost nearly got me his x800 xt plat, he decided to reimburse me for the time I have spent waiting for the card. So, Lee gets $100 for nothing. Yes, that is correct. What does Lee do with this money? Buy a Radeon x800 pro. That’s right. Tomorrow will be spent in eager anticipation as the amazing GPA dropper makes its way to my mailbox. w00t. Andrew, I don’t know what you have, but you can just eat it. ![]()
So,
The following is the gruesome account of how Lee fixed his computer.
The baby was in a sad state of affairs - it wouldn’t even POST (beep after boot or anything). Everything would turn on, but the motherboard detected something wrong and unfixable and just decided to sit, idling, with nothing on the monitor. Basically dead in the water.
So, I surf. I surf like never before. I think I’ve read every forum post about an ASUS motherboard boot problem. After about 4 hours, I realized that the problem lied in a small chip in the motherboard that is its brain before the hard drive starts to be accessed. This little chip is called the BIOS chip. Screw it up, and you’re screwed. There are ways to reset it, but I tried all of those methods and about 12×10^12 other methods and nothing worked. So, I began to lean towards buying a new chip. There is one seller of BIOS chips, but I didn’t trust them so much. My last option was resorting to ASUS, and having them send me a replacement chip. All through this time I was working with Jonathan Moses, the RA below me, who is a computer geek (met him at a LAN last year) and has a system nearly identical to mine. I had been using his monitor and working computer as a resource while my computer lied in pieces on his floor. He has the exact same mobo as me. I had read on a few forums about the technique of ‘hotflashing,’ but dismissed it as a last last resort. About this time, I was down to said resort. Hotflashing is probably the quickest, but riskiest solution to my problem. It requires using another mobo of the same variety to fix the broken chip. So, after some persuasion and trips to Radio Shack, I was ready to attempt the procedure. Here’s how it went down. I took my dead chip from my computer and put it in a anti-static bag. I then booted his computer with a bootable floppy disk with some BIOS flashing utilities on it. Once the computer was running from the floppy drive in DOS, the BIOS chip was no longer being used. So, WHILE THE COMPUTER IS ON, I take the BIOS chip out of the mobo and replace it with mine. Then, I use the BIOS flashing utilities to flash the BIOS and make my chip be unstupid. I turn off the computer, replace chips again, cross my fingers a lot, and boot my computer. I told Moses if my comp beeps I would go crazy. After a few seconds, I hear a beep and started to scream and jumped around. My crazy risky Dr. Frankenstein computer fix worked! So, my computer is up and running and begging for the Radeon 9800XT that I should be getting this week sometime, and HL2.
w00t.
so…..
I was messing with a few BIOS settings, because… well, I don’t know why. I wanted to see if it would speed up the computer. I just changed things from ‘optimal’ to ‘aggressive.’ I think I did this under two categories. So then I go to save the changes and restart, like normal. And everything’s normal. Until it wasn’t anymore. The comp spins up and everything is powered, but it doens’t POST at all. POSTing is what happens before the computer even boots up, a check to make sure everything is working. Nothing is being put out to the monitor.
Either my mobo or CPU is fried, I think, after surfing forums for like 4 hours and spending much more trying to reset CMOS.

I like the looks of this.
9800 xt = this weekend (hopefully)

Lee = happy. So happy, in fact, that the actuality of having 3 possibly VERY painful tests in the next week does not phase me.

Update on why I hate alcohol:
1. Injuries. The residents on my floor have sustained no less than three (3) ankle injuries as a direct result of alcohol. One resident is wheelchair bound after severely spraining both ankles (and his need to continue consuming alcohol is in no way improving his health). Another of my residents also sprained his ankle and required the use of crutches for about a week. Not to mention all of the other effects that alcohol could have on your body: liver damage, blood pressure changes, cancer risks, etc, etc, death. Although the 11th Floor Infirmary has been somewhat humorous to me, I don’t see how the need for alcohol overpowers your concern for health.
2. Money. Last weekend one of my residents was issued not one, not two, but three tickets from the Bozeman Police Department. Evidently, he didn’t even know he had received them until the next morning. I believe his drunken actions didn’t fall inside the boundaries of the law and he paid the price. I don’t know how much the paperwork will cost him, but it won’t be cheap (near $1000, I’m guessing).
3. Run-ins with the Law. I frequently hear about residents who “run away” from the cops or are forced to hide for several hours in order to avoid getting caught. One of my residents who is a semi-frequent heavy drinker is on MIP probation, yet still pushes her limits and has several narrow misses in the past weeks. All of the drinkers give the Police a bad wrap for closing parties or pursuing underage alcohol violations, but they are just doing their jobs. I would like to think that people would get a clue that what they’re doing isn’t legal and the Police need to enforce the laws. Evidently, people don’t have a clue.
4. Humiliation/Self-Degradation. What could compel someone to engage in an activity that could quite possible result in them passing out, doing something they might regret, or simply not remembering what happened? Alcohol does make ‘getting aciton’ much easier, but that’s almost like cheating. I hear stories about what people have done during/after a night of drinking and I wonder why they continue to drink. They laugh at themselves and say “What was I thinking?” Well, YOU WEREN’T. There are many better ways to occupy your evenings by doing something fun that (Bonus!) you can REMEMBER the next day.
Alcohol, when not taken seriously, is stupid.
I have talked with some people who drink that mostly agree with me, and I appreciate them being aware of all these risks and not binge drinking like there’s no tomorrow.
If you don’t agree with me, I suggest you seriously review your personal policy on alcohol. If you still don’t agree with me, you’re an idiot.
Thus, my Friday night of being on call and dealing with stupid drunk freshman begins.
On a lighter note, my 9800XT will be here in less than a week, and Half-Life 2 will be here before November (hopefully). w00t.
soooo just got done with some roundage tonight/this morning. Very interesting indeed.
and anyway, I hate alcohol. period. I will back that up in full later.
so yeah. a post. w00t. zzz.
cuz I’m movin’ to Montana soon…

Hey college dudes and dudettes, what are some good ideas for activities/programs for the beginning of the year that you have experienced? I am open to suggestions for my upcoming RA-ness.

comment if you’re interested; it would be awesome to have one in Sher-town this week.
You all should go and see The Day After Tomorrow. It is quite the awesome way to start summer. The special effects are absolutely amazing. I had been waiting to see it since September or so and it was worth the wait.
computer is getting packed up….
I’ll be back in Texas Friday night or Saturday morning.
I’m about to go rock a Physics test.
pwned.
Everybody else who’s taking a test this week or sometime soon, take luck.
Frisbee rocks.
Dead week, on the other hand, does not.
Fortunately, I have enacted the “Lee doesn’t play any games until all finals are complete” Plan. That should help in the anti-procrastination department. So, I’ll be bustin’ the homework this weekend, which includes (but isn’t limited to) : a 20 minute music presentation, a 4-8 page paper to accompany the paper, a 6-8 page Texts and Critics paper, a 5 minute Texts and Critics speech, 100 calculus integrals, Physics homework, and studying for a Physics Test.
RA announcement today. I don’t feel too nervous, as I will be happy next year as an RA or not.
12 days!

Yesterday it rained in the morning and changed to snow in the afternoon, eventually dumping a good 3 inches onto the ground. This morning, fields that were white at 9 am were green at noon. Now its hail/snowing. Haiowing.
I got my T&C paper back yesterday. I thought it wasn’t one of my best efforts, but my prof thought otherwise. She was completely amazed and gave me an A+! I WIN.
I have a TV card in my computer so I can watch TV on it, but up until now I never could get the audio and video to sync. Last night, I was messing with a Winamp TV plugin and ended up downloading new ATI drivers for my TV program that came with the card. These new drivers fixed the problem, so woo.
Snow is melting away here, weather is showing perpetual 60 degree sunny days. ![]()
and Joseph is on lj now, his screenname is jofus06.
I’m shutting down my computer for the break.
I leave Bozeman at 3 pm today Mountain time, get to Dallas at 9 central time. I’m excited about returning to Texas!
peace
Lee’s weekend:
Friday night - LAN party!!!!!!!!! Played Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Desert Combat, Need for Speed Underground, Rise of Nations, and Starcraft till 9 am on Saturday. Quite fun.
Saturday- sleeeep, then some homework. meh
Sunday - homework meh. But I made a new mousepad! My old mousepad that I used at the LAN was some random printout that I had scribbled all over and taped to my desk. Whenever my mouse went blind, I just made a new mark wherever it was blank. My new mousepad is an upgrade. I downloaded an awesome program with the capability to calculate Pi to 32 million digits. So I calculated 512,000 digits, shrunk it down to size 4 font, printed it out and taped it down. So now, my mousing surface is 1/15th of Pi to 512,000 digits.
I’m such a nerd.
Ty absolutely smoked me and Chuff in two races over the network today. Chuff gave up and turned around and started running into Ty; good times were had by all.
So now, its sleepy time for calc at 8; and then I’ll be writing papers for the rest of the day tomorrow, = boo.
Enjoy your spring breaks and such, someone give me a time machine.
lee > physics
Travis, I’ll whoop up on your physics for ya.
Other Travis, don’t die. Benadryl is helpful, so is some kinda dose-pack of somethingorother that I sometimes take. I’m sorry I don’t know what it is, but I could find out if you want. You need a prescription, but its powerful stuff. Sounds like you’re on the rebound so I wouldn’t worry about it.
in other news,
LAN Party TOMORROW!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I found a program to play Need for Speed Underground over the local network, so we’ll be racing in addition to shooting each other. I think we’ll have a car style contest, too. My Skyline is quite slick. ![]()
omg LAN on Friday!!!!
expecting 25-30 people, gaming for 10-11 hours, woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Dang. I’ve been thinking of all the cool suff I can post. So I’ll do it bit by bit.
On my mind now is what happened last friday afternoon during my cross country skiing class.
So the class is winding down, and our awesome teacher decides that we should play some football ultimate with our skis on. Me and Leif took on the 2 girls and Heather, the teacher. We won. By a lot. But everyone had a good time. Then we have some slalom races, fun as well. Then we take a ski, deciding to ski the “Kiddy Kilometer.” After that short jaunt, we find ourselves looking at a pristine snow-covered meadow thinking it would be cool to ski over there. So we did. The rest of the afternoon was spent skiing the backcountry behind the Bohart Ranch Trails. It was quite awesome and a good way to review our skiing technique. But that’s not the coolest part. We stop short of a slight uphill grade to chill and talk about whatever. Out of nowhere, this snowboarder appears and nearly plows into Molly, one of the girls in the class. We are almost as stunned by the snowboarder as he is by us. After the shock, we exchange the usual “How’s it going, etc” and go off on our separate ways. We ski along a little more, until we reach a road. We look down the road to see where it leads, and we see the snowboarder’s truck. Next to the truck is this huge jump that was obviously made there for jumping purposes. You can see where this is going.
The snowboarder has been climbing up the hill next to the jump, speeding back down and hitting the jump, and jumping over the road!
We were amazed by this, and skiied back down to get a good vantage point of this spectacle. After a few minutes of hiking, we hear our hero shuushing down the hill, and stare, jaws agape, as he flies about 15 feet over the road to a perfect landing on the slope where we had previously had the run-in with him. Simply amazing. I always thought that was something only seen in the extreme videos, but I have been disproven.
A-mazing.
LOTR ROTK kicks arse.
ahem. Don. Travis.

gawwwsh that was a long, stupid process. I don’t think my camera likes me all of the time, so some pictures change from looking like a picture to a resemblance of monkey feces on my hard drive. whatever. my new picture works. bwahah.
Andrew- did you get Call of Duty Multiplayer to work?
addmonkey03 (12:08:13 PM): ah, monospace, my darling, where have you been all my life
Lee’s guide to being a college fish, Part 2.
Not having to go to class from 8 to 3 is quite nice. It’s strange being able to take naps in the middle of the day, or not do anything at all, all day.
Lee’s guide to being a college fish, Part 1.
College computer networks are awesome. And by awesome, I mean really, really, really, really neat-o.
I need to study for a Physics test at 7:15. Which means I can’t read Faust until tomorrow. Which means…. no skiing tomorrow. ![]()
But we’re going snowshoeing and camping again this weekend. ![]()
peace
addmonkey03: you have a call of duty, i have a call of booty
addmonkey03: HAHa
aflacLee12: well put my friend
I bought my first pair of skis. They are cross country skis, but they schus nonetheless. $190 for nice new skis, bindings, poles, and boots. Way better than the $84 I’d have to pay to rent skis for about 27 hours over the semester for my cc skiing class. (haha)
I am in the process of applying to be an RA here next year. I figure it’ll be a fun experience, and then I will get paid to go to school. Kinda nice.
I ate baklava today while Leif and I did a kick-arse job of facilitation *another* discussion of The Odyssey for Texts and Critics.
Maybe my Pro/Engineer Wildfire software will finally get shipped after some detective work by myself and dad.
Ty is walking on to the football team. Three times a week he has to wake up at 5:30 to go and practice across campus. I should go run while he practices, but I haven’t motivated myself to do so yet.
Which ties into the next statement: Call of Duty is a really sweet game. Having a LAN server literally 150 feet away from my computer is sweeter. “Why is your ping so low?” “Heh heh heh.”
Don, I taught myself (a little help from Tuan was needed) how to fold a paper crane!
And mom sent me Mr. Gumby Chocolate Brains and Chocolate Dead Parrots. I had quite a laugh after opening the package. “My brain hurts!”
It snowed today.
I was so busy with stuff this week I wasn’t able to go skiing on Wednesday, my designated ski day. (First and only class is at 5 pm) Boo
I am going to leave AIM on for as long as possible. Right now, I’ve been online for about a day and a half. I foresee leaving it on for at least a month.
The end.
I’m going to sleep.
I think I shall design or build something really neat and useful one day, and go to audition for American Idol. I don’t quite understand why the ‘idol’ of America has to be a singer, if anyone at all. What the heck can America as a nation look up to a singer for? Why not recognize people who actually contribute to the betterment of society and the world instead of people who have a pretty voice? Sure, they have talent and are well-liked, but they shouldn’t be the ‘idol’ of America. So everyone write a paper about a new idea or draw a new roadmap to peace in the Middle East or cure cancer (Travis) or something helpful and go audition. Or cancel the show. now.
and come to the LAN Party here on Friday night.
On Saturday, I snowshoed 2.7 miles to Lava Lake and spent the night laughing, eating, and staying warm by the fire with Leif, Ben, Dave, Will, other Will, and Luke. Came back around 1 on Sunday, relaxed, warmed up, and then proceeded to play computer games until 2 am. Woke up at 8, frantically trying to call Leif about skiing. Leif calls around 10 after he wakes up and we go skiing with Ben at Bridger from noon till 4. Came home, tried to do homework, but played more computer games. Call of Duty is addictive.
Going skiing again tomorrow.
Livejournal Poll:
Should a 95.4% in a college course count as an A and be worth 4.0 GPA points?
Leave your opinion and find out the real answer in a few days!
“Is your real name Lee? Or Leonard or something?”
No, my parents named me 1337, but they shortened it to Lee.
Ah, the strange humor I come up with while I pack at midnight…
Have any of you college guys seen Windows XP Pro for cheap, like if Microsoft has a deal with your school? Because I’d like to have a real version of Windows.
I guess I should post something, with all the stuff about finals and such flying about.
Lee’s schedule for the next two weeks:

Texts and Critics Final Speech
ME 117 Final Quiz, Drawing
ME 101 Good Design / Bad Design Project

Pack and leave room to go to the airport and head to Dallas! My flight lands at DFW at 6:41 on Saturday evening.
Eat s%#$ Griz, GO CATS GO!
Whoever decided to make up chemistry words sure had a fun time of doing it:
The two enantiomers of the methyl group containing a chloro-carbon display different chirality. The question is, “Is this molecule levorotatory or dextrorotatory?”
Oh, how I enjoy chemistry!

I tried to go trick-or-treating, but Mr. Internet’s door was locked so I didn’t get anything from him. Aside from that, here’s what you guys gave me:
Don gave me an F-16
kT gave me her computer and a sledgehammer
Travis Steel gave me a spare laptop
Joseph took my computer
Mom gave me brownies
Dad gave me an engineering textbook
Travis Schaefer gave me his old engineering textbooks, I gave him my Chem book
My Chemistry prof gave me the highest exam grade (really, he did. I WIN.)
My roomate Ty gave me a cow
:D
And Mother Nature gave me bitter, bitter cold weather. Brrrrrr!
I still need a costume, though.
Happy Halloween!
Make your own nation and move it to the 4th Dimension!
So yeah. It snowed last night and most of today. The ground was too warm for it to stick, but it was awesome nonetheless. And where else could you say that you’re going fly fishing tomorrow… 15 minutes away from campus? Correct answer: nowhere but Bozeman, Montana - the BEST place in the last best place. Tomorrow is homecoming (woo - hoo) and time to read the next Texts and Critics Book, write a paper, do Chemistry, Math, and make sure that all of my computer games are still working properly. ![]()
what a cool new picture.
Thank you, Ms. Moser.
Don’t try to drive over lonely rocks in your loaded down Outback Sport. It won’t like it too much.
dude. don. Brad Watson is the Camp Director next year at James Ray. Maybe you can pull a Ben Booth and become a staff member for a few weeks!

Snow. September 17. I win. I wore jeans, a long sleeve shirt, and a fleece jacket to the Descartes lecture tonight.
so, I win.
it snowed today.
This was in the “Potty Press” last year. Unfortunately, they don’t update the website last year, so I can’t post any of the new stuff yet.
haha.
Well, it was a quiet week here in Lake Bozbegone, my current home town, on the edge of the mountains. The students are just getting back into town from their Spring Break vacations. And you can head on down the Hannon Cafe, and hear Mabel telling about her trip to Mexico, or Bettsy and her exotic adventure to places like Winnepeg. Don’t forget about those who didn’t go anywhere. They can tell the most exciting stories of all. “I stayed here and did a 16 hour shift at Roskie. I can’t believe they paid me to watch movies.” The only thing more exciting than working at Roskie over a vacation is meeting someone who is getting paid by a government agency to let her muscle atrophy. That is wicked cool. It wouldn’t work nearly as well for me, namely because I don’t have a heck of a lot muscle. But, none the less it would be cool. It gave me pause to wonder what else the government would pay people to do. “Here you are sir, we need you to pee into this cup… every hour on the hour. Here is a million dollars.” I realized what my dream job could be. I want to figure out worse case scenarios for companies. I realized this when I wondered what would happen if I didn’t hand in a paper to write an article for a publication. The worst case for that wasn’t nearly as interesting as the one for a major South American Banana Cartel. “Well it can’t be all bad [you fruit haired lady]. The worse case scenario is that you can only export your bananas from Ecuador on three 26 ft. sail boats. You can’t travel through the Panama Canal because each boat is 600 ft. wide. You only have one navigator who was blinded in a horrific accident with an electric shaver because he couldn’t read the instructions on the box because he only reads Cantonese and only speaks Latin. He is the only one hired to navigate ‘around the horn’ and the only port that will accept your ‘nanners is the City of Chicago, although the only way to get there is through the St. Lawrence Sea Way and through the lakes… if you fit, and then you can only dock in the City of Big Shoulder’s by pulling in backwards.” That is the worse case scenario. You get a lot of time to think when your VCR melts. Be sure to thank NAFTA for letting you cross either border to spend some money. I’ll get off of my soap box now. Finish strong.
lj doesn’t like my pictures too much. all of you picture-smart people tell me a good upload site (I was using villagephoto), and how to link to pics on lj!
Check this out.
This is a picture from Montana State University’s Honors Program Orientation. …and also proof again that my school is better than yours. It is simply amazing up here in the “last great place.”
thank you.

It’s the lite version, but I think I found a bug. Open it once, click cancel when it asks you to enter your password and kill the .txt file that pops up. Open it a second time, do the same thing, and the keyboard should be fully enabled (2 octaves, different tones, etc).
I think I’m addicted.
you’re hotter.
I win math.
yeah so Travis and I ran to school today. big whoop. it was only, what? 9 miles? piece - o - cake.
running is so much fun. you ought to try it someday.
Mr. Frank needs to ask me to name more sets so I can satisfy everyone…. that was fun today. Actually, all of rehearsal was fun. I think being surrounded by Pat, Travis, Jeremy, and Nick creates such a funny atmosphere that it is impossible not to have a fun reheasal!
English class is pointless. No point whatsoever. More on this later.
today i ran from the high school across hsy 75, around the courthouse, and back to school on Houston or Lamar- whichever one runs East. that’s a long way.
Oh yeah fyi- Joseph was pushing a pygmy rattlesnake to keep some smaller Scouts away from it on a campout this weekend. The snake was about 8 inches long. The stick he was using to move it was a bit smaller than 8 inches. Needless to say, 24 hours later and after a trip to the Athens, Texas hospital, Joseph’s hand looked like a marshmallow. He’ll be at school tomorrow and no, he’s not dead. Little rattlesnake venom never hurt nobody…

haha yes. I win too.
yep. got home from campout at noon. took a shower, fell asleep. woke up and put Scout uniform back on, went to Eagle Court, OA ceremony, etc. now I am back at my house for a while. eh.
We get to go be at band late tomorrow- but I’ll probably have to take Joseph to school and be at the band hall at the normal time. eh.
zzzzzzzzzz. goodnight.
Eat your heart out, love.
I am an animal.
if you haven’t done so already, add Don to your friends list. he doesn’t have very many friends. except for his multiple personalities, that is. his username is emanresu. very original, eh?
I left the talent show early and didn’t get to see the bands from Mark Avara on… or the fight. But at least I got out of the house! And Travis’ band WHOOPED EVERYONE ELSE!
Katy is the best! And she is wearing pink underwear!
hey. don’t just delete it. eh.
ha i win.
essay = done
now if all of the AP essays were over the 20th century, I’d do fine….
He was a tall man, says the length of his pants
in a small closet next to his Scout uniforms;
a busy man too, says the clutter of the desk
in an organized way; and a talented, musical man,
says the music with chickenscratch scribbles
on the stand near the window, allowing cool air inside;
but not a man for English, says the pencil
moving sporadically, and the eraser bits everywhere.
A brother lived with him, says the room next door
and the random babbling and singing for no reason at all
heard at all times of day, and they had a mother,
says the delicious smells emanating from the kitchen.
Time was scarce, say the tired eyes and early alarms
and packed backpacks awaiting the campout at week’s end.
And the summers hot, say the ever-turning ceiling fans.
It was busy here, say the post-it notes’ constant reminders.
Something happened here, say the aging pictures of brothers and parents
in the dust-collecting bookshelf. Boxes of Legos
say he once was a child; the building pile of clothes
in the laundry basket says she struggles to keep up with her many tasks
And the belongings? They lie ejected from the tornado
that calls this room home-an OA folder,
a shirt that still bears a tag, a wooden canoe paddle,
a cigar box shrine. Something happened here, they say.
yay for poetry. not.
Friday at 4- leave for a top-secret mysterious campout. Sunday at 2- Return from this top-secret event after not sleeping a wink on Saturday night. zzzzz I saw Katy today, though.
I’ll see all of you pre-cal people in class around 7:30. heh.
goodnight.
getting home at 10:45 = fun
not
I win.

okay, that’s it, enough with the ‘boner jokes. even if you do have the most sick mind in the whole band (and, in fact, you’re the one who makes most of the ‘boner jokes). however, you’re also a generally nice person and much fun to be around.
Which band instrument are you? Take the quiz here!
yay for boners. we do it in 7 different positions…. ^_^ (kT)
Lee’s weekend:
Thursday- Dad left for Scout thing
Friday afternoon- Mom left for other Scout thing
Friday- went to Don’s house (my home for the weekend) and went bowling with Xie, Ryan Bristow and Krista McKinney. I so beat everyone there. Only the computers were broken and didn’t know that I was supposed to be winning. Drove around like loonies, DIDN’T see Jessica, Juana, and Erin at Sonic, and then went to Ryan’s house and watched some of shibby. and den me and don went home and played Monopoly and stuff. I ended up losing after giving lotsa cash money to Don with his hotels on Tennessee and New York. eh. sleep at 2, woke up, UIL meet, blah. blah blah. Picked up Katy, went to see Ice Age, saw the line at the pink theater, so we went to the mall and saw ET. If we had been 10 years younger, it would’ve been better. Saw John, Zack, etc afterwards, and decided to camp out for Star Wars tickets when it comes out in May. ooooooooo Star Wars. and den we went back home, played hide and seek with katy, and played Monopoly. I was winning until Don got Free Parking (HUGE) and I threw in the towel. zzzzzzz church (which consisted of me and Don getting tired of having no donuts ((Where’s Mr. Van Bebber?)) and leaving church to go to Albertson’s and get Krispy Kremes) , more Katy with a 2-year old and Easter Eggs, and then 15 minutes of physics.
If you don’t want to read the above paragraph, read this:
I LOVE KATY
They lived happily ever after.
The end.
w00t myself
dang. I have to make a 93 on my math test tomorrow to keep my test average at a 100.
stupid imaginary numbers…
sleep?
today- Katy and Lee had a great time!
okay all you ski-type people:
How many of you honestly skiied a double black (on purpose) this week?
I wanna play it again….
Take this.
PASS OR DIE. Hehe. Some of them are kinda hard, I guess. and then there are some that are just blatantly obvious.
NO MORE SCHOOL TILL NEVER!!!
according to Travis, since 1 / 0 = undefined, and 2 / 0 = undefined, 1 = 2. I then told him that since a cat isn’t = to a dog, 1 = 2. Ahhh, the fun of pre-cal. (while Mrs. Butler rambles on about all sorts of confusing stuff)
then stupid funny movie in Physics. Hunt for Red October would’ve been better.
yeah, walked over a little kid at Hastings, found out which side of the Mbu the fuel door is on… lalala.
and then Fast and the Furious… the plot was pretty lame, but there were a LOT of fast cars, all of them just souped up sedans. except that one Ferrari….
we both get our out-of-town-ness at the same time! yay. nakie.
hey! let’s look at mirrors and discover that light is reflected in them. duh. geez.
yeah. i played with katy’s hair. and it was fun. we didn’t do anything else. no. I don’t know what you’re talking about. get your mind out of the gutter! gosh. yeah. what did we do? we watched people kill each other, and then ate each other. she’s ticklish. don’t tell anyone though.
you’re nice
retard
psh no.
i win.
nose language.
The bus left.
HAHA! and Katy was reading about “Special Education” in a college majors book. no big deal. except she was reading it upside down. hehe what a retard.
blah.
Jazz Band Contest at UTA has been canceled (postponed?). Anyway, its not happening today. Don’t risk your lives on the roads! Make snowmen instead.
Ha. I slapped that pre-cal test like a cheap whore today.
I’ve got about 150 cm of extra PVC for that palm pipe thingy. Talk to me on AIM or at school tomorrow if you want some of it. First come, first served. ![]()
USA gonna win hockey gold!!!!!!!!!!!! woooooooooooooo
U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A
i am a golden god and katy is a goddess.
katy is the mistress of the universe
that is SOOO much crap. Ohno won that race, but got pulled down by some 16 year old from Korea
I love you.
infinity
Oh, I forgot. Johnny Moseley is the greatest moguls skiier ever and should have gotten gold. The dinner roll was
A-mazing
I was planning on writing a physics hate post today, but Sterling did it for me.
Today in Physics was no exception. Mrs. Cowley proved herself to be incapable of answering some easy conceptual questions. and then proceeded to yell at me.
Oh well. as I told Robin, all the poop is about to hit the fan. ewwww. poop everywhere.
Thankfully, the stuff we are covering now is also something we’ve done in Chemistry, so I understand it. As long as she doesn’t ask the correct way to hang a 50g piece of aluminum on a clothesline.
Anyway, I went to katy’s house and colored. her. It was fun.
paper = skin
Anyone want to skip school tomorrow and go to Utah with me? eating pillows and watching the games is fun, but it would be so awesome just to be there right now.
Let the games begin!
That was one a-mazing opening ceremony. I can’t put it into words. If you saw it, you know what I mean. If you didn’t, then, you missed out on something really awesome.
Hi mom! Talk to the president!
My name is Lee, and I have taken a hostage. If you want me to release this hostage, you need to fulfill these requests:
Thank you. The hostage wll be cared for under my guard.
i feel like skiing. where did I put my skis?
How fitting for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.
I’m psychic. I may be able to predict what you’ll be doing in ten years. With the help of my beautiful assistant Katy, I will be able to show you everything about your future self.
Don’t worry, we already saw ours. ![]()
Yes, she liked it. ![]()
blah + 1
i think the correct term is “teenage-sitter”
go ‘03! we be smart yo. all up in that PSAT an stuff.
tomorrow = 2 tests, then about 34 hours of band.
goodnight.
partial fractions = long, hard, and gay
Today in physics, I taught myself stuff and didn’t listen to Mrs. Cowley except when she started contradicting herself. Amusing, but stupid.
and nothing else happened for the rest of the day.
today was official do-nothing day. I sat around and, well, did nothing all day.
+1
Congrats to Don, Chris, Aly, and some other kid…. oh yeah. Pato. and congrats to everyone else who went, you guys practiced hard and should be proud of what you accomplished, even if you got jipped.
aaaand Katy just bought me. darn. I love you more.
have a nice night.
I love my Katy.
*getting high off “my” watch* uh huh. Lee and Katy thing. don’t ask.
they need to do this sleep-in thing more often. “I’m not done with my homework; I’ll just finish it in the morning.” a-mazing.
sleeeeep
sigh…. no katy to talk to. however; it’s not like she always has me to talk with… I will always *heart* you!
sleep time.
*sleep-in* time !!!
go TAAS!!
this is all a very sinister plot to make us THINK it’s Friday… when its actually only Tuesday. This is crazy! i refuse to believe tomorrow is the weekend. okay, maybe i don’t.
I can’t remember what happened today. I had a coma after Katy and I did, well, some stuff. yeah. that’s it.
stupid school. but at least we don’t have homework for B days yet…
but, Katy and I had mad passionate sex during English. It was fun.
The end
you people sure are long-winded. i get back from my little adventure and have a million posts… and stupid pictures that take for-ever to load… ha. gosh guys.
yeah, went camping in the snow near Ski Apache ski resort outside Ruidoso, NM, then went to South Fork, CO and skiied at Wolf Creek for 2 days. Wolf Creek’s base is at like 10,000 feet, so they have better snow than the rest of colorado. But, no high speed lifts, and it was really cold. the resort is kinda small anyways, so we covered the mountain after the first day. Once you have done just about every run at a ski place, it gets boring. all in all, i had a great time… except for one small (more like very hugely important) detail.
it’s all good now, i’m back and stuff
yeah, you all wish you had a 12″ King Arthur action figure from Monty Python and the Holy Grail…. complete with the holy hand grenade of Antioch. Bah.
Christmas = tomorrow
I’m so smart
i got CS bots. so now i can play against people without relying on my pos 56k modem. and get good. funfunfunfun. now when i get broadband or something… (never) i can be good. or halfway decent… maybe almost average? o well. i have a fair chance at the game now anyhoo.
x a million x billion x lot
sleep time. with katy, again. duh.
Me and katy slept together last night…
went to Travis’ house, made a movie sortof. sucked cause Don was stuck at his house being a slave. but we burned stuff on the porch. ha. and killed 1,000 people on The World is Not Enough. At about 400, we decided to see what would happen when you got 4 digits. it wasn’t too cool, the game didn’t explode or anything. ![]()
now we’re getting ready for some Christmas get-together or something.
21 hours, 35 minutes till no school according to Katy’s watch. hehe.
I heard some stuff about today’s finals that wasn’t good…. o well. In physics, if you think logically, you fail. If you try to make sense out of something, just ask Mrs. Cowley, and she will erase all of the sense it previously made. quite simple.
i have Nicole’s thingy to help study, and i’m going to memorize the history book. maybe not.
The AP Chem final was funny. funny as in haha i don’t know any of this stuff. o well. tomorrow is PreCal and easy Physics, and then Wed is English and History. ooF.
*still hugging*
I woke up earlier than everybody else today. it was like a school day. boo. went to dallas, applied for summer camp staff at “Beuatiful Camp James Ray”, and came back. and will stay here and probably study for finals now. more boo. o well.
I love you too!
1.4
I was a box yesterday. and then me and Katy took a shower together. yup.
Today was drive around north texas during school day. 7B- Drove to Dillingham, played, drove back. Sat in Band hall, wrestled. 8B- Left school, drove to Southmayd, danced like an Indian (don’t ask) for 3rd graders, and came back. We got back to the band hall at like 3:30. It was really strange, realizing that we just drove 40-something miles and did nothing school-related, but everyone would think that we just went to class. whatever.
behind enemy lines. bang.
concert tonight. wow. big whoop-ee. math test tomorrow. (stupid power outages!) It should have ended last class, but we spent the last 30 minutes of class entertaining ourselves with a flashlight and darkness. The internet died yesterday, and it was insane. All of a sudden, AIM disconnected, and i could dial-up, but no internet sites would load. Stupid internet texoma. finals are next week!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. die.
Katy- don’t worry about tackling me and just admit that i win. It would be so much simpler that way. You would just be telling the truth…. ![]()
band- nothing
english- watched Frasier. what kind of crazy teacher would let us watch Frasier in class? Mrs. Robinson! She is so carefree usually, which is pretty cool. Mrs. Clark on the other hand…. She got REALLY mad at us today. I really didn’t understand why she got that torqued. There were a lot of people that were concerned about getting a good grade on that thingy, and what she had us doing wasn’t working at all. After about a minute of that, i gave up and didn’t care anymore. Whatever dude.
AP Chem- did some stupid confusing stuff- with magnetic stirrers…. around and around and around
and Don said that Mrs. Cowley had a severe case of the stupid today. We really need to do something with her. Its fun not doing anything, but we need to learn something in there. Me and Travis Spoon were thinking of trying to get a suprise assistant-principal check-up of our class. Any other ideas?
another perfectly good weekend wasted by nothingness and many miles…
bo-ring
As i see it, this is a 14-hour roundtrip drive to do homework and say “Hello” to my grandparents. Why can’t they live in Plano or something?????? geez.
but… I have my Katy, it’s all good.
what happened today?
Pre-cal- boring trig stuff
Physics- test NO COWLEY!!!!!!! There was an air of intelligence in that room for once.
BAnd- Pat is laugh-aholic. He messed up real bad when we were playing something, and we both couldn’t stop laughing for like 10 measures. haha
cross-country- we “ran” around school. (went to the band hall where frank had put together new stands. which is where travis got his cardboard boxes to destroy.)
(*T H I S* much) squared
good job to everyone who went to Phase 2! I thought we did pretty well this year, but, as usual, some of us Sher-town people got screwed out of bands and area. anyway, no more trombone practicing for me for a loooong time.
Physics test tomorrow.
I LOVE MY KATY! more than she loves her Lee. i win.
where did that snow come from?
At least we don’t have that much homework due on Wednesday. (i don’t) it won’t be like last year when we learned Crispin on the way back from Richardson. that wasn’t too much fun. good luck to everyone tomorrow, and yous guys have fun in wightman’s class.
haha. Who’s back before everyone else? Lee is! Congrats to everyone who made it. All I know right now is that the low brass section of SI are all bad-arses and we kicked everyone else in the balls. I need to find out results for everyone else……
1 hour and 30 minutes. Better start learning my mooo-sic. ![]()
today was alright, except for all the people gone from classes for a reason that is almost too devastating to imagine.
anyway, me and Travis did some really confusing stuff in AP Chem, and nothing much else happened. I tackled katy, but that’s no big feat. Nothing to it. I’m winning, by the way.
good night
maybe the roads will freeze tonight, and maybe school will get canceled tomorrow, and maybe…..
haHA! who’s making a 100 in Pre-AP Pre-cal? who beat Pat? Lee! Pat really is better than me, so don’t be suprised when he makes State. I hope he does. Made a 79 on my physics test, and I dont give a flying #%^. Mrs. Cowley is the stupidest mother f-ing teacher ever, makes no sense, doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and contradicts herself. I am going to start reading the book and not listening to a word she says during class.
School = tomorrow
still up here in Montana. Bor-ing. we skiied yesterday, which was fun, though. and for all of you cold texans down there, it’s snowing. (and everyone up here is complaining about how late and warm this winter is)
Brrr!
Hi guys. today was a normal day…. i’m just chilling. my family drove around a little today….
all over Central Montana.
it’s okay. i guess. but there has been a large lack of fun stuff. tomorrow is another day of driving, and Thanksgiving is ski day (finally). can’t wait to get back to Sher-town. and school. groan.
I just washed my car. its all shiny and stuff now.
No homework for a week!!!! yes. thats right. i said no homework.
I may not be last chair after all! Or not. But Frank said he’d have trouble trying to figure out what to do with us three. (the trombone section) And no, put us in the trash is not a valid answer. But we all sound relatively the same with different strong and weak points. Now all i have to do is learn some jazz….
grumblegrumblestupidhistory. Make it stop!
Lee’s day-
1A, 2A blah
History- I used all of the documents on the DBQ! I still probably did crappy, but i know what i meant to say, and thats all that counts. (except for Mrs. Clark’s gradebook)
bla
I drove to my lesson at the High School, crashed into an 18-wheeler, and died. But i got better. ok. Better study for math and practice. Must… beat… Delise! (Pat is already guaranteed not 1st, but 0th chair)
dbqs suck. oh wait. so does physics, and english, and everything else. except math. math is all right, being that i’m a math person. dbqs still suck. I understand all of these documents though! Class rings are gonna be cool tomorrow.
physics was the only thing that is worth talking about. today was our usual Mrs. Cowley says we have a test next class so we spend the period working on a study guide (that we have to turn in!!) about the stuff she “taught” to us. yeah right. “Mrs. Cowley, can you tell me how to do, like, all of them???” and so Mrs. Cowley attempts to do them, but only makes it worse by confusing herself even more. yee-ha.
SHS drumline busted up some 5A schools last night, and it was funny. Travis threw french fries all over Colter’s, and it was funnier. Then i had to sit with him on the way home, and it was scary at times, but it was probably the funniest. then i slept thru church and sunday school. and then i drove my bro a whole half a mile. By myself. (its the thought that counts)
Me and Travis made a 95 in AP chem! Go us! OK enough of grades, “They’re just stupid numbers.” Band was boring, but afterwards, me and Don deserted his mom. It was funny. Cold front coming! no more hot november days (at least for 3 or 4 days)
…and our 2A English Class (The Rice Paddy) is gonna beat Denison’s pathetic excuse for a can drive all by ourselves! I hope
I hate crossword puzzles. If one word doesn’t fit, you start questioning all of the other words. Or is it the puzzle? Or could it be the teacher? AAAAAAAA oh well. What did we do at school today???? It was funny in Pre-cal when we told Mrs. Butler exactly how much Mrs. Cowley has taught us. *Okay class, you’ve learned how to do this in physics, right? “Wha? Huh? Mrs. Cowley hasn’t taught us any.. We haven’t learned anythi.. AAAAAAAAA!” Very funny. Of course in physics, what do we do? Swing water around. Oh well. Its beyond stupid now. No one cares.
My parents aren’t home….
Party at Lee’s house!! except not. I saw on the news that the MLB is planning on cutting teams for next years season to decrease losses. Expos and Twins got the most mentions, but they were also talking about the Marlins and some others. thats pretty weird. Our economy isn’t doing so hot. Oh well. as long as we keep feeding the taliban more 15,000 (!!!!!) pound bombs, I’m happy. ![]()
Lee finally got his license!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so incredibly ironic: how many times in the past months I had to whine at mom to get it….. and how fast it took to actually get it. Probably stood in line longer than it took to sign some stuff, read off some “small” numbers, sign an electronic pad, put my thumbs on another pad, and stare into a camera. Oh well. I’m legal!
Back to the cram sheet.
putting all my crap and papers back into the folder rings instead of the outside pockets has shown me all of the stupid stuff we have done in physics. Its a lot.
Howdy dudes. I am typing into a tv using a wireless keyboard….pretty cool. Me and Jarv are at the wyndham hotel next to the ballpark to cheer on Jake and DJ at the Region CC meet. On the way to the foosball gme, Fuk went on a trip. thanks to my skill and prowess, (and help from Don and kT) he was found! yeah ok. another trip to Afghanistan. Wearing katy’s pants on my head was fun too. Travis wants to eat the internet now. here you go travis.
Goodbye. *this is travis* yum yum yuum yu7h yum3r477gfoii6qweorfth7yef fgh dyug s d hb sdfg dfgdfsd sdjhdgbwei6y3489v479 48937pergser.
AP US History Tests are gay
Fuk hath returned! He was never actually missing, but was in Afghanistan. While in-country, he killed about 12 Afghans and wore a beard. Someday he’ll show you pictures. However, hasn’t gotten them declassified yet. He has returned to Sher-town and is living happily.
We have 3 tests in 2 days. That sucks eyeballs.
Everybody gave it their best shot, and we kicked butt. The judges were smoking something reeeallly weird. So, we lost. That’s it. But it won’t be that simple for us. It’s that feeling that we should have placed really high, but we didn’t. Maybe we’ll learn what made look like 8th place material tomorrow.
OK day: DBQ wasn’t bad. (but it wasn’t good either)
English was boring (How bad can a movie get??!!) me and Travis knew exactly what we were doing in AP CHemistry!!
Andd—
I went 11 and 30 on Counter-Stike
go Lee
HA. Its funny cuz I can’t read any comments. So don’t post any. Or tell me how to fix my gay LJ. Maybe its just Netscape.
Ha. Cool. No browser required.
Good job kT. I made a 98 on a Pre-AP Pre-Cal Test. Ha.
Anyway, if the Army would hook me up with some of the equipment up their sleeves (video cameras on guns, super-silencers) , I would go to Afghanistan and bust up some Aghan-terror punks. You just know their peeing their pants right now, hiding in caves cause we’re about to kick the living #$%#%@! out of them.
World War 3:
The War on Terrorism
Little do the plane flying punk idiot moron suicidal radical fundamentalist freak crazy evil terrorists know…
A Sleeping Giant has been Awakened
Zack, I’ve got a pic for you. To get it, I need the e-mail address you use, or just get on AIM when I’m on.
And before that, 3 months! Anyway, I wasted HALF of the 4-day weekend doing absolutely nothing at my grandparents’ house. We drive down there on Saturday, arrive at 7, sleep, wake up, do boring stuff until 5 on Sunday, and then drive home. What the #@%$% was the point of that trip?????
Oh well. I ran a 18:54 on Saturday. Sherman CC kicks lubricated goat anus!!
84 more Crucible pages! that means 84 more naps.
Goodnight
Hey look! A post!
I love History. No really, I do. I love taking Mrs. Kinder’s “oh yeah, there’s going to be a huge long test over oh, about three chapters. I really don’t know which, so just read the whole book. And this packet. Twice. And just to make it more fun, I’ll throw in, oh 5 timed writings.” tests. There sooooo……sleep-deprivating!!!!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
But at least I’m still awake
Ho hum
I have way too much stupid homework. But that’s what band class is for, right?
Abileine is really far away. Too far away for a campout. However, it doesn’t matter because the food was good!
Finally finished Separate Pieces. Stupid book. I agree with Katy. It did not take three hours to read that book. Especially when you start to go fast and you have to go back and reread it. Oh well. Wightman’s going to make some big deal about all of the symbols, and I won’t really care at all.
Hmmm… maybe I should do homework.
hmmm
what happened today?
nothing.
Of course, the baritones *coughcoughKATIEcoughcough could play that Fropanation part at the end much better if they had only come to sectionals.
Geez.
Oxymoron/paradox:
Dehydrated water
Hey everybody, know where the pad is? Okay, the fence that runs north by the pad, all the way out to the track, east over close to the Ag barn and some weird oil/electricity thingy, south to Hwy. 56, and all the west back to the pad is one (1) (uno) property of the school. After school today, Don and I ran 5 of those. hmmm. Lets see. 5 times 1.5 miles apiece equals…. 7.5 miles!!!!! My feet HURT! I did it in 59 minutes (with 3 short stops and one trip inside to pee). 7.627118644 mph. My feet HURT! And its all part of the plan to be superfast for CC next year. Oh boy.
Okay. Fine. Today was not an A-day, but a B-day. However, due to the chapter’s boring nature, it will require most people to begin reading it a day in advance. I only posted that comment so that the readers of it could be extra prepared for Kinder tomorrow. Some of you just use the earliness as an excuse to call me stupid. Therefore, your comment earlier today, KT, about me calling you stupid is justified. You also, although it was wrong and untrue, called me stupid. So ha!
We need another phone line.
Oh yeah, almost forgot today’s oxymoron/paradox.
Today is opposite day.
Viva la gato.
Whats the difference between a tomato?
Okay, so maybe it is just a stupid joke and not even a paradox. I don’t care. Has everyone been good Kinderites and read your chapter???\
Haha! Just a bunch of Chinese, Indian, and Japanese people that lived a long time ago.
But, now they’re all dead.
Please refuse me.
Wow. We got straight 1s at UIL. Don’t you think we should if we rehearse for umpteen hours a day?! Not like my weeks are busy enough! Oh well. I don’t care, because there’s no school tomorrow!!!!!! I plan on slacking off and accomplishing absolutely nothing! Except worshipping cat.
Oh yeah, I bought Gladiator so we can watch it at DC. I’m not too excited about seeing the monuments again (although, to show more American pride, the monuments are very awe-striking), but I can’t wait to see the air and space museum again. Its really cool!
Long Live Cat
Crud. I didn’t run the mile, because it had already finished before we were even near the stadium in Denton. We had to leave at 4:40 because of that full band rehearsal thingy. Oh well. I guess I just get ready for cross-country next fall. (This fall?!) Whatever.
Long Live Cat
I ran the 2-mile today, and got 8th or something (I don’t really care) and then we had to leave and come here for the NHS thingy. Personally, I thought the ceremony was a lot of hype over nothing. Sure, NHS is a great program, but couldn’t we have a better ceremony?? Anyway, I get to miss 6B and part of band tomorrow, and then leave rehearsal early to go run the mile. Woo-hoo! oh wait. I’ve gotta run. Again. Really fast. DARN! Wish me luck. Hopefully I can set a new PR. (thats personal record, for all you non-runners)
Wow! thats my longest post ever!
Does anyone know how fast you are running when you run a mile in 5:22?
11.18012422 miles per hour! My feet were going that fast for 5 minutes! Thats what explains me being very tired after that. But it stinks because I didn’t even get 6th! Stupid 5A distance runners.
Hey! Somebody tell me about the talent show! I have been trapped at home, doing homework and whatnot.
In the words of spoon, I’m up out.
All Hail Cat (version 3.0)
You could call me html-happy.
But that would be an understatement.
Please take a few seconds to remember Cat, one dear to many of us for a good part of a day.
Rest in Peace.
